Elon Musk’s newly founded AI company, xAI, has begun its mission with the goal of “understanding the true nature of existence.”
The company has launched a new website to outline its primary mission and provide a list of its employees. Elon Musk stated on Twitter that the main objective of xAI is to “understand reality,” without offering further details on the matter.
The xAI website states: “The aim of xAI is to understand the true nature of existence.” xAI is led by Elon Musk himself and boasts employees who have previously worked for prominent AI industry companies such as OpenAI, Microsoft research teams, Google, and DeepMind.
The website also makes a mention of Igor Babushkin, a distinguished AI researcher who recently left DeepMind. Other individuals, including Manuel Kroiss, Jamie Ba and Tony Vu, are part of the xAI team.
Elon Musk has announced that the xAI team will host a conference on Twitter Spaces tomorrow, but the exact start time has not been disclosed. Participants in the virtual audio room on Twitter Spaces will have the opportunity to get to know the xAI team and ask them questions.
The xAI website explicitly states that this company is separate from Elon Musk’s X Corp holding but will maintain “close collaboration with X (Twitter), Tesla, and other companies.”
The first information about xAI emerged in early February 2023 when documents revealed that Elon Musk had established the xAI company in Nevada.
